Paris Vacation - Tips About Paris Vacation Guided Tour

Although it isn’t a well publicized fact, Paris is the second largest European city; ideally situated along the banks of the river Seine. No visit to Europe would be complete without a short stay in Paris; it is almost guaranteed that a second, longer stay will be required.
Visitors flock to see its many wonderful buildings; the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe and the Louvre must not go unmentioned. Traveling around Paris is relatively easy for visitors as well as locals; the Metro underground system is easy to understand, efficient and reaches everywhere even the most enthusiastic tourist would want to visit.
No visit would be complete without a trip to the top of the almost 1,000 feet tall Eiffel tower; there are only a few places in the city where it isn’t visible. Illuminated in the evening, it is one of the most beautiful sights in the entire city; guided tours add to the thrill as you get to peek into history on how it was constructed.
The famous Paris Avenue ‘the Champs Elysees’ must also receive a visit; you can see beautiful shops, sit and drink coffee from the many cafes or have a meal in a first class restaurant. This avenue is well worth a visit to see how the wealthy live; top class hotels are found here, although if you want to stay at a more reasonably priced hotel, they are available outside of the city center.
The world famous Louvre museum is in this city; it houses over three hundred thousand exhibits but not all of them are ever on display at the same time. On a Paris short stay vacation it would be easy to spend entire weekend here; some of the world’s most important art collections including the infamous Mona Lisa are on display. Paris has always been a magnetic destination for artists; painters like Monet and Picasso spent many years here and a large number of their art works can be seen in Paris today.
Paris is also the home of the equally famous Arc de Triomphe which Napoleon had constructed in the early part of the 19th century; the names of his generals engraved upon it to honor them and his troops. It also features an observatory to take in surrounding views; in particular those obtained along the lanes that lead from it.
Of course this article can only give a small sample places to visit; although no trip would be complete without seeing these, they are probably best viewed as part of a guided tour, some of which are actually free. It’s an unfortunate fact that a Paris short stay vacation will only include some of the attractions; this article has not even discussed the topic of medieval castles and gothic churches which the city has in abundance.
