New Shows and Developments Uphold Branson, Missouri’s Title of Entertainment Capital of the World

Branson, Missouri has long been a Midwestern vacation destination millions of families enjoy each year. This year, they’ve done even more to ensure your family’s vacation is a fun and memorable one. With new shows and exciting additions to popular festivals, Branson continues to build on its undeniable reputation as Entertainment Capital of the World.

This June, an exciting new show, America’s Favorite Finalists starring Top 12 American Idol Contestants, debuted at The Grand Palace. Showcasing the best of the best of American Idol’s 6 seasons, this new production features Idol contestants from throughout the years and highlights the talented performers who have graced your television. The six Idols featured in the show are on a rotating schedule, but a few of the Idols who will be on The Grand Palace stage through July 20th include Season 6’s Haley Scarnato and Brandon Rogers, Scott Savol and Vonzell Solomon from Season 4, Carmen Rasmusen from Season 2 and RJ Helton from Season 1. Every 2-4 weeks performers are rotated in, so be sure to check back for which of your favorite Idols will on the stage next!

Another great thing to do in Branson is go to Silver Dollar City’s National Kids Fest. The festival, which began in June and continues through August 10th, features new shows and activities for kids, including The Magic of Peter Gossamer, Ice Circus and Kids Concoctions. Along with the great kid-geared entertainment and fun, Silver Dollar City also offers thrilling rides, such as Wildfire, and splash-tastic rides, like The Great American Plunge. At Silver Dollar City, summer fun is in full swing!

Noah The Musical opened in Branson at the end of May and has been a great success in its debut month. Delivering a powerful message through a dramatic production, Noah - The Musical has already been performing to sold-out audiences and promises to remain one of Branson’s most popular show. Located at the Sight and Sound Theatre, Noah takes families on a journey through the classic Bible story of the Ark, and features a 300-foot wrap around stage complete with live and animatronics animals.

Dick Clark’s American Bandstand Area ‘57 also features a number of events this summer, including the Area ‘57 Cruise-In and Drive-In Movie Night, where movies are shown vintage Drive-In style. In addition, Area ‘57 is home to numerous car events. In June, the Route 66 Mopar Car Club and Rods & Relics car shows came to town, and in July, Area ‘57 is home to the Chevy HHR Show/HRRitage Nationals and the 21st Annual Ozarks Run: F-100 Truck Show.

Another Branson favorite, Andy Williams, is back this season and his summer shows, featuring Ann-Margret. The limited engagement showing of Andy Williams and Ann-Margret at the Moon River Theater runs through July 26th.

Branson is always adding something new to their bevy of shows and attractions. Recently, it was announced the Western Music Association Hall of Fame will be coming to Branson, and will be located in the new Heritage of the West Museum. This is just a small piece of the giant development, which will also feature Mission Square and Great American Wild West Show.

Every month in Branson, something new is opening or a new performer has been announced. With so many great developments happening so often, there’s always a reason to visit Branson, Missouri.
