Medieval Days And Knights In Portugal
During August Bank Holiday weekend, the castle at Castro Marim on the Algarve, Portugal, returns to the medieval ages, recreating all the pomp and circumstance of that era in a spectacular four-day festival.
Although it’s only 40 miles from Faro airport, Castro Marim is considered off the beaten tourist track. Overlooked by the impressive historic Castle, the town of Castro Marim was originally founded by the Romans as a seaport. However, it is now some three miles from the coast and the land in between now largely features a salt marsh nature reserve. The historic castle, where most of the festival takes place, stands above the tranquil, whitewashed town and is a memorable place to visit - either to watch the festival or as part of a longer break in Portugal.

The Cleveland Way - The Perfect Walk?
Maybe you’re a walker looking for something a little different. Or, maybe you happen to be staying in Whitby and have indulged in too many fish and chips (washed down by some excellent real ale!) and need some exercise to prevent that feeling of guilt. If so, the Cleveland Way might just be the ticket!
While many visitors are more than happy just to enjoy walking around the towns, villages and beaches of the Yorkshire coast, those with a more adventurous bent can stretch their legs along the Cleveland Way.

Bay Of Naples - Not All Hot Air (part 2)!
Although the area’s past history is unmissable (see part 1), there is plenty to admire today about this famous area of Italy.
Capri is a must. If you go during July and August the island is overrun with tourists. There are many ferries running from the various ports on the main land. Capri’s port is very busy but you can escape the bedlam by heading for Anacapri by bus or taxi. Anacapri has splendid shops and restaurants but do take the chair lift to the summit. You can admire the panoramic view from the cafe on the summit. Of course, Capri town is a must see! The chic shops and a glimpse of a celeb is on offer. Be warned the town is extremely busy - only after the ferries have left can you really enjoy the town. Although a boat trip around the island is pleasant, the Blue Grotto is overrated.

Motor Home Camping In Utah
Utah is a great place for camping. One of the reasons it attracted Mormon settlers was because it was full of stunning natural beauty, like nothing anyone had ever seen before.
The good news for all you campers and hikers is that all that scenery has been preserved by the park service for us to enjoy today. If you look at a map of Utah, you’ll see that almost the entire south-central portion is national park. You could easily spend several weeks in Utah and always find new things to see.

Christmas Markets Germany
We arrive in Munich and our guide makes it clear this is Bavaria. Bavarians favor autonomy from Germany and even have their own language. I have been here many times but looking through sober eyes now, I find it more vibrant, clean and sophisticated. We spend 2 days with Nancy, an excellent guide who has already emailed me to remain in touch.
I have a mini-group of just 26 so this is like a vacation for me. It is a first time abroad for some and I love to learn from them as they notice things with child-like enthusiasm that I do not.
